A new underground station

  • Client: RFF
  • Project management: Joint venture between SETEC (representative), Egis, Agence Duthilleul, AREP (subcontractor)
  • Delivery: 2020
Porte Maillot EOLE RER station is part of the project extending the existing RER line E (suburban express line) to the west.
The central volume of the station is stiffened by diaphragm walls or poured-concrete walls supported by steel and reinforced concrete horizontal beams. Skylights allow daylight to flood down onto the station and the platforms while the escalators -built against the sloping sidewalls- also contribute to bringing natural light to the whole volume. The West and East Halls provide connection with metro line 1. The Interchange Hall – a bustling hub located between the East Hall, the Pereire exit, the RER line C and the Palais des Congrès – houses business premises, retail outlets and Transilien ticket offices. The design of the station takes into account the national reference document on station accessibility for people with reduced mobility or disabled persons.
